Sunflower seed coffee is an interesting alternative to traditional coffee that fits perfectly into the keto diet.
To make it, you will need sunflower seeds (100 g), water (500 ml), and optionally a little sweetener, such as stevia.
Rinse the sunflower seeds well under cold water to remove any impurities. Then dry them with a paper towel.
After that, roast the seeds in a dry pan over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
The roasting should continue until the seeds become golden and start to release a pleasant nutty aroma.
Once the sunflower seeds are ready, let them cool slightly, then place them in a coffee grinder and grind into a powder. Note that the finer the powder, the richer the coffee will be.
Now prepare the coffee. In a saucepan, bring water (500 ml) to a boil, then add the ground sunflower seeds (to taste).
Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes to extract all the aromas and flavors.
After that, remove the saucepan from the heat and let it steep for another 5 minutes.
Strain the coffee through a fine sieve or cheesecloth to remove any remaining bits of seeds.
If desired, add a little sweetener, such as stevia, to give the drink some sweetness.
Serve the coffee hot, enjoying its nutty flavor and aroma.
