About the study.
The impact of vitamin D supplementation on liver function in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) was evaluated through a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials. Liver enzyme levels were compared in patients receiving vitamin D.
Results.
The current meta-analysis demonstrates a significant reduction in ALT levels (SMD: -0.45; 95% CI: -0.87 to -0.04; P = 0.032) and ALP (WMD: -12.91 IU/L; 95% CI: -18.75 to -7.08; P < 0.001) in patients with NAFLD receiving vitamin D supplements.

This review focuses on bone mass loss in postmenopausal women and fracture risk assessment, which is key in osteoporosis management. Various pharmaceuticals for increasing bone mass and preventing fractures are discussed.
Results.
Bisphosphonates are the most widely used anti-resorptive agents, and zoledronic acid shows long-lasting effects and efficacy for ten years after a single dose. Denosumab is effective in preventing fractures, but its effect rapidly ceases after discontinuation. Romosozumab has both anabolic and anti-resorptive effects and shows broad efficacy in fracture prevention.

The relationship between vitamin D deficiency and cardiovascular diseases (CVD) was investigated. Observational studies showing the correlation between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels and CVD risk are discussed.
Results.
Low serum 25-(OH)D levels are associated with an increased risk of events and mortality from CVD. However, vitamin D supplementation did not demonstrate significant benefits regarding CVD.
2. Genetic basis of delayed shedding of primary teeth and delayed eruption of permanent teeth: a systematic review.
About the study.
The aim of this systematic review was to identify genes and genetic traits associated with delayed tooth shedding and the presence of retained primary teeth. The study covered a literature analysis on this topic.
Results.
As a result, 6 studies were included. Of the 3 case-control studies, 2 identified associations with RANKL (rs9594738) and COX2 (rs5275 and rs689466) polymorphisms, where the presence of certain alleles was more frequent among individuals with retained primary teeth.
