4. Association between serum 25(OH)D concentrations and carbohydrate-lipid metabolism in women with gestational diabetes: analysis of NHANES data 2007-2018.
About the work.
The study aims to analyze the relationship between 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels and glucose and lipid metabolism in women with gestational diabetes. Data were collected from 1,876 women with a history of GDM.
Results.
Each 10 nmol/L increase in 25(OH)D was associated with a decrease in HOMA-IR by 0.017 units, an increase in HDL-C by 0.127 mg/dL, and a decrease in total cholesterol by 0.007 mmol/L. The analysis showed a U-shaped relationship between 25(OH)D and LDL-C.

About the work.
The study aims to evaluate the effect of omega-3 supplements on heart rate control and heart rate variability in children with inappropriate sinus tachycardia. The study involved 60 children aged 12-16 years, randomized into two groups: one received omega-3 supplements, and the other received standard care.
Results.
After 3 months, the omega-3 group showed a significant decrease in maximum heart rate (from 160.5 ± 17.9 to 142.2 ± 15.7 bpm, p = 0.000) and average heart rate (from 98.9 ± 4.7 to 90.7 ± 5.5 bpm, p = 0.000). Heart rate variability indices also significantly improved: SDNN (p = 0.000), RMSD (p = 0.000), and pNN50 (p = 0.000). Clinical improvement was significantly higher in the omega-3 group (63.3% marked improvement) compared to the control group.

The study aims to evaluate the effect of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (n-3 PUFAs) supplementation on circulating precursors of specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs) in humans. The meta-analysis included randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
Results.
n-3 PUFAs supplementation significantly increased the concentrations of circulating SPM precursors: 18-HEPE and 17-HDHA. The increase was particularly pronounced in patients with high inflammatory, metabolic, and oxidative burdens.
