Baked hot pepper is a bright preparation for those occasions when you need to quickly add spiciness and the aroma of roasted pepper to a dish. It’s convenient to keep it in small portions in the freezer.

Cut the hot pepper (250 g) in half and, if desired, remove some of the seeds. Brush the halves with olive oil (15 g), sprinkle with salt, and place them on a baking sheet.

Bake in the oven at 200 °C until soft and lightly browned at the tips. Let the pepper cool slightly.

Scrape the soft flesh with a vegetable knife or spoon. Cut it lengthwise and crosswise into small cubes.

Use immediately or transfer to a bag in a thin layer and freeze. After handling hot peppers, wash your hands thoroughly and avoid touching your face.
