Recipes in a ham maker
A ham maker is a press mold used to prepare homemade ham, meat loaves, and firm casing-free sausages. Prepared meat or minced meat with spices is packed inside, closed with a lid, and compressed with springs so the mixture keeps its shape and becomes dense after heating.
It is usually placed in a pot of water, oven, multicooker, or sous-vide setup and cooked at a controlled temperature. After chilling, the press is removed and the finished meat can be sliced; this makes it easier to control the ingredients, salt level, and avoid sugar or unnecessary additives.
