Ingredients:
- Chicken hearts (500 g)
- Olive oil (2-3 tablespoons)
- Garlic (2-3 cloves)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (parsley, dill, or cilantro) to taste
- Lemon juice (1 teaspoon, optional)
Instructions:
Thoroughly rinse the chicken hearts (500 g) in cold water, removing excess fat and blood vessels. If the hearts are large, cut them in half for more even cooking.
Pre-peel and finely chop the garlic (2-3 cloves).
Heat the olive oil (2-3 tablespoons) in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the prepared chicken hearts and sauté them for about 10-12 minutes, stirring regularly until they develop a golden crust.
2-3 minutes before the end of cooking, add the garlic to the hearts so that it doesn’t burn but has time to release its aroma.
After that, season with salt and pepper to taste. If you like it spicy, you can add a pinch of red pepper.
Finally, remove the skillet from the heat. Sprinkle the dish with fresh herbs (to taste) and, if desired, drizzle with lemon juice (1 teaspoon) for a hint of acidity.
