Combine unsweetened soy sauce (3 tbsp), honey (1 tbsp), lemon or lime juice (1 tbsp), and the garlic-ginger paste. Add black pepper (to taste). If necessary, add salt (to taste), considering the saltiness of the soy sauce. Mix until smooth.

Pat the chicken wings or drumsticks dry and pour the marinade over them. Mix thoroughly to coat each piece. Leave in the refrigerator for 2–6 hours.

Bake at 200 °C for 35–45 minutes until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 75 °C. Alternatively, grill for 20–25 minutes, turning occasionally and brushing with the remaining marinade.

Use a keto sweetener instead of honey to keep the carb count low and achieve a characteristic glossy caramelized effect.
